I've been bothered for quite some time about how "busy" my blog design is. I'm conflicted between the desire to maintain complete blogrolls and the desire to highlight a few particular blogs that I happen to think may be especially valuable to people in the Lotus Notes and Domino commnity who stop by here. I may do more about this soon, but for now I've taken one small step to help make a few of the links I'm presenting stand out just a little more than the rest. To keep this from adding even more to the busy feel of the page design, I've dropped the block that had the "Recent Entries" links.
The change I've introduced is the new "Don't Panic Links" block that you can see over on the right. As you can see, it is formatted to look quite similar to the Google AdSense block, but these are not paid ads and the content is my choice. The fonts and sizes are a little different from the Google block, and I also added a little graphic that I am affectionately calling "Tiny Alan" :-) It's not a great picture, but it's the only picture of Alan that I have and it was taken at the blogger's BOF at Lotusphere so it seems quite appropriate. The content of the Don't Panic Links block is static, but that's for now. I will probably develop code to cause these links to be dynamically selected. Right now, I've got links to Alan Lepofsky and Chris Linfoot in the block. I haven't decided on a graphic for Chris yet. Decisions as to whom else to feature will be mine, but your suggestions are surely welcome.

I am deeply honoured to be singled out in this way though I wil not be surprised if you decide to drop me after what I have written today.
Graphic - if you are still talking to me, use those tulips. Or a bowl of petunias.
(Oh no! Not again!)
