Last weekend I dropped the kids off at camp. I don't know how many years in a row this is. I've lost track. My wife had gone down the week before that. She's a nurse in the camp infirmary. I'm on my own for the summer -- again. Disruption of my already seriously screwed up sleep/wake cycle has set in. Serious dieting has started up again -- and the fatigue of the first few days of going back to near-zero carb only added to the sleep/wake disruption. Cabin fever hasn't set in yet (probably due to excessive sleep), but in a couple of weeks I'll be making just about any excuse possible to get out of the empty house. This, however, is the weekend. Time to visit camp.

Last year they put wireless in the camp library, which is close enough to the infirmary building that the signal just barely gets over here. It's weak, but tolerably stable and with nobody else on it at midnight, it's fast enough. It's better this year than last, but I'm not sure if that's because they changed equipment or because I switched from a Belkin card to a D-Link card. Anyhow, I'll stay here through Monday, and when Beth is working I'll be able to keep myself busy on-line.

What the heck kind of camp has wireless Internet access? That's not bloody "camp" - that's a Hilton in the country!
