The Senate passed a measure this week that would make English the natonal language. I'm all for it, so long as we start enforcement immediately by impeaching anyone in the Executive Branch who, on a disturbingly regular basis, doesn't speak proper English.

I thought you didn't want to have him impeached because then VP Cheney would take office and then choose his successor who could run for the top spot...

I agree though, the government shouldn't have to translate documents for a particular language. English or nothing!

You're right. I did say that. Impeaching Bush would be a huge strategic blunder. Not that it's going to happen. After all, he violates numerous existing laws with impunity -- laws with real substance and importance. So when the decider-in-chief violates an utterly unnecessary and inconsequential national language law by making official announcements in his mangled language that is clearly not English, I'm sure there will be no consequences.
