A few weeks into my new gig, it occurred to me that, for the first time in over 20 years, I'm not in any way responsible for running my own primary email server. I've never even seen it. I don't even know where it is. The realization freaked me out a bit at first, but it wasn't long before I came to the realization that I don't actually care! Well, except for the quota thing. Other than that, I'm very happy to have someone else be responsible for my mail server.
About a week ago, HP announced that they will be consolidating 85 data centers down to 6, with two in each of three US cities. So, I guess within a year or two, I'll at least have the location of my primary email server narrowed down to either somewhere in Atlanta, Austin, or Houston.
Of course, I do have quite a few Domino servers in my test environment, and I still manage my own rhs.com server as well, so I'm not completely removed from hands-on server operations.
